Central government scholarships for higher education. MHRD sponsored AICTE is inviting applications for PRAGATI scheme and SAKSHAM scheme is ‘aimed at award the scholarships in Technical Education’.

In particular PRAGATI scheme aims at to provide financial assistance for Girl students. In order to encourage them towards technical education. For those who got admission in first year in Diploma or Graduate courses in Technical Education.

On the other hand, SAKSHAM scheme provides financial assistance for Specially abled children. To support these children to pursue the technical education. This scheme applies especially for Specially abled children. Those who got their admission in first year in Diploma or Graduate courses in Technical Education.

PRAGATI scheme – Salient features

  • Total Scholarships under this scheme are 4000 per Annum (of them 2000 for Degree and 2000 for Diploma)
  • And the candidate must be admitted into 1st year of any diploma/Graduate technical courses approved by AICTE.
  • Further, the Scholarships for Degree and Diploma are transferable in case of no eligible candidates found.
  • Of course, under this scheme two girls students per family allowed to apply. More importantly, their annual income must be less than 8 lakhs.
  • In event of married girls, the highest annual income from parents or parent in laws should be considered.
  • The awardee of scholarship is purely based on the merit in qualifying exam. Such as 10th or 12th Grade marks.

Amount of Scholarship for PRAGATI scheme

  • Amount of scholarship: Tuition Fee of Rs. 30,000/- or at actual fee whichever is less.
  • And also provided Rs.2000/- per month for 10 months as incidentals charges each year.
  •  In case of Tuition fee reimbursement, Students are eligible to get an amount of ₹ 30,000. For the purchase of Books, Laptop, Vehicle, Fee paid for competitive examination applications forms/exam.

Reservation policy for PRAGATI Scholarship

  • Reservation for SC-15%, for ST-7.5% and for OBC-27%.

Document Required to Apply for PRAGATI Scheme

  • Mark Sheet of standard 10th or 12th or others as applicable.
  • Income Certificate
  • Admission conformation letter in Diploma/Degree issued by Director of Technical Education.
  • Certificate issued from College principal/director.
  • Receipt of Tuition fee.
  • Bank Pass Book indicating student photo graph, name and A/C No. and IFSC code.
  • Caste Certificate for SC/ST/OBC category.
  • Student Aadhar card
  • Declaration by parents

Salient Features of the SAKSHAM scheme

  • Total Scholarship to award-1000 per year ( among them 500 for Diploma and 500 for Graduate courses)
  • If there is non availability of eligible applicants in any of the Degree/Diploma level Programs. Then there will be inter transferrable among Graduate and Diploma scholarships.
  • The candidate should be admitted to 1st year of Degree/Diploma course in any of the AICTE approved Institutions of central or state governments.
  • Specially Abled students, having disability of not less than 40% are only eligible to apply.
  • But also their family income not more than 8 lakh per annum during the last financial year.
  • The selection of candidate for scholarship purely based on merit in the qualifying examination. Which is the base to enter into this technical course.

Amount of scholarship under SAKSHAM scheme

  • Tuition Fee of the student paid up to ₹30000 annually.
  • And an amount Rs.2000/- per month paid for 10 months as subordinate charges each year.
  • In case of tuition fee reimbursed for the Students .Those are eligible to get an amount of ₹30,000 as a scholarship.
